Tailor Made Teaching Events
We offer instruction and suggestions for ways in which leaders of churches and Christian organisations can reach the fringe community of saints, those who are emotionally wounded and those living in fear or trauma, who are often overlooked when it comes to targeted Christian teaching. This will be through talks and seminars at strategic venues. It is time we unlocked the huge potential of the visual arts, of group activities and community life for illustrating and acting out in parable the things we need to know about who God is and who we are in Christ.
Our twenty-first century western world is racing on so fast, with changes rapidly taking place, that keeping up the pace is stressful for most of us at some point. For those suffering material, physical, emotional or mental disadvantage the going can seem almost too much to cope with. There appears to be a growing number of people even in the church who are being left behind. They are seen to be those who are the misfits: those who are alone in some way; are fragmented, mentally ill, socially dysfunctional, or do not fit the mould of middle-England.
Often these people are unable to understand or connect with the vital truths of the Gospel and so, even though they may really want to grow in Christ, they remain in the dark about many things most of us take for granted. There are those who, for example, can neither read nor write and therefore depend upon visual and audible teaching available. Others are blind or deaf, speak English as a second language, are learning disabled, too depressed to be able to concentrate, or completely absorbed by their inner pain.
Our burden is to really bring these things to the awareness of established leaders and those in training, that at the outset the "little people" in the church community are seen and heard, given a voice and a place in the Body of Christ.
Our belief is that the "wounded made whole" will be at the forefront of leading the Church in the coming years, as they will know first-hand the restorative power of God in spite of the odds stacked against them.
Releasing the "Wounded-Made-Whole"
The emerging generation finds itself unsure about the morals that in previous generations were clear-cut and absolute. There is much that is good about allowing people to think for themselves, but the inevitable downward trend in family values and morality has become obvious in recent years. Young people now wanting to be in positions of leadership are struggling to overcome problems that were rare a generation ago. They need to hear the clear voice of the "wounded made whole". There is no message more powerful than personal stories, and so we must make room for those with a testimony of recovery and healing to be heard in order to bring hope to our confused and hurting world.
