Breathing Space

If we are honest, most of us find the pace of life today too fast for comfort. If we keep up without a break we suffer physically, mentally and emotionally. Taking time out of our hectic lifestyles to stop and take stock of who we are and where we are going is not only a good idea, it is vital for our health and well-being.

Heart for Truth is offering Quiet Days with just that purpose: providing a time for quiet reflection and uninterrupted relaxation. The days are not long: 10.30 to 4.00pm, so there is minimal pressure on our busy timetables. But we do expect those who come to be prepared to lay aside for a few hours the burdens they are carrying and focus on the moment. The burdens will still be there to pick up at the end of the day. They may not change - but you might!

We are offering regular Quiet Days throughout the year mostly aimed specifically at those in Christian leadership or pastoral responsibility. Our guests will have the opportunity to chat and network with other leaders but also to spend time in silence, interspersed with sessions of teaching and encouragement from Carolyn and the team.

Today's pressures on Christian leaders and those who are in a position to care for and guide others are immense and the sometimes resulting burn-out can seriously hamper our walk with God. It is even more important that we keep centred on our calling and anointing, and not get thrown off course with the lures and demands of the materialistic world with which we are surrounded. In these days you will learn ways of staying in touch with the source of your strength and joy even while giving out and serving others.

In addition, there will be the occasional Quiet Day for those who are struggling, such as abuse survivors, those suffering from depression and anxiety and other difficulties. Watch this space for details.
